Book Review: When The Wind Blows

Book title: When the wind blows
Author: James Patterson
Genre: Fantasy, Sci-fi, thriller
My Recommendation: Highly
My Ratings: 8/10 (a 4 out of 5-star rating equivalent)

When the wind blows is one of the books that I’ve put off for months and when I do dig into it, I’d invest a few days to finish it.

To be honest, When the Wind Blows is not my normal cup of tea, I normally get into Rom-com, Young Adult Fiction, and Contemporary Chit-Lit reads. I guess I decided to add it to my reading list when I did a little research on the Maximum Ride series (which I read a little of the first book a while back) and saw the film. Book Review: Queen Of Someday

Queen of someday

Book title: Queen of Someday
Author: Sherry Ficklin
Genre: Romance, Historical Fiction
Pages: 283 pages (Kindle)
Total read time: 2 days
My recommendation: Highly
My ratings: 9/10 (a 4.5 out of 5-star equivalent)

The story follows a 15-year-old girl named Sophia who travels to the Russian court of the guy named Peter, who she is soon to marry to save her family name. He’s handsome, but very sadistic (I like to think of him as a cruel asshole). Someone’s also out to kill her, we don’t know who but she has a devastatingly handsome guardian angel by her side named Sergei. She vows to adapt to life in court and it’s not your typical damsel in distress love story. She’s fighting for survival to be the queen and battling the hardest fight of all: being pledged to one man but in love with another.

Author: Sophie Kinsella
Genre: Fiction, Rom-Com, Young Adult Fiction, Comedy, Chick-Lit
Total read time: approximatetly 2hrs
My Recommendation: HIGHLY
My Ratings: 10/10 (a 5 out of 5-star equivalent)

[Spoiler alert]
Twenties Girl is by far one of my favorite books to date. If I were to read this again, I would. The story takes place with Lara’s world crumbling before her: her boyfriend Josh stopped communicating her six weeks ago, her business partner and best friend left her to fend for herself while she’s out dallying somewhere with a beach hunk, and she couldn’t tell her parents her business partnership is a big bust, to make things worst Lara has to attend a funeral for a great aunt she never knew she had.
